Why learning with Optimec?

At Optimec, we believe that it’s important to learn from a user perspective. Therefore, we make sure to provide the right teacher for each class, which means our expert mastering the best the applications related to the course.

Our live classes are the best option for students to apply their learning directly on the platform with the teacher present, responding immediately to their concerns. This approach allows us to use real-case examples provided by the student or generic ones if needed.

Our mission is to leverage our solid expertise and best-in-class engineering tools, we enable our customers to innovate in their product development processes and manufacturing workflows. Therefore, the same applies to our teaching offer.

With more than 20 years of experience, Optimec is proud to provide the official Dassault Systèmes classes in English and in French (on demand).

Instructor(s)

Benjamin Beckelynck

Engineering Simulation Specialist

Benjamin landed in Quebec City in 2012 after completing an engineering degree in aeronautics from IPSA in France. He went on to pursue a Master's degree in mechanical engineering at Université Laval, and competed in 2015. After moving to Montreal, he joined Optimec Consultants as an FEA analyst in 2016. Benjamin has since been involved in a wide variety of projects across industries, driving advanced multi-physics simulations. He is now responsible for developing analysis workflows, ensuring high fidelity and detailed comprehension, for structural integrity study, design optimization, and virtual testing.

Hamza Benzakour

Engineering Simulation Specialist

After graduating with a master’s degree in applied mathematics and mechanical engineering from the ENSEIRB of Bordeaux, France, Hamza’s passion for the automotive sector led him to work as a vibration engineer for an international tire manufacturer in France. He then occupied a role of FEA consulting engineer as a crash test specialist for an international car manufacturer for three and half years. Following his Canadian dream, he found himself in Montréal and his years of experience along with his solid technical knowledge granted him the title of finite element analyst in 2020 for Optimec.

Hafedh Marouane

Engineering Simulation Specialist

Hafedh holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the École Polytechnique de Montréal in early 2017. He began his professional career as a postdoctoral researcher in the mechanical engineering department at the same school. He also has teaching experience, acquired as a lecturer in the engineering Modules at Polytechnique Montréal. Having a diverse background in numerical simulations and a passion for solving complex technical problems, Hafedh joined Optimec in September 2018 and has held the position of a specialist in engineering simulations. Certified “SIMULIA – UFEA Technical Support,” he helps large and diversified clients to analyze, optimize, and improve their products using the latest simulation technologies.

Course overview

DESCRIPTION

This course is an introduction to solving fluid flow and conjugate heat transfer problems in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. In this course, you will learn workflows for steady-state internal and external flow as well as Conjugate Heat Transfer (CHT) problems through the Fluid Model Creation and Fluid Scenario Creation apps.

OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Define fluid flow simulations in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, including isothermal internal and external steady-state flow.
  • Perform fully coupled conjugate heat transfer (CHT) simulations.
  • Postprocess flow simulation results.
